Understand Money
Earning, saving, investing, and the fundamentals of finance.
A National Initiative · Powered by ELINA Consultants
A yearly inter-school competition that teaches students how money really works, then challenges them to think up, build and pitch a business idea of their own. Because the future belongs to those who understand finance, entrepreneurship and the machinery of building something profitable.
Why It Exists
Most students leave school without ever being taught how money works, or how a business is actually built. Two subjects that decide the shape of an adult life, and neither one is on the timetable. The India Finance Olympiad exists to change that, and to make financial literacy and entrepreneurial thinking a normal, exciting part of growing up.
It is a friendly national contest. Students learn the fundamentals of money and business, then apply them by creating real business ideas and pitching them against peers from other schools.
The goal is simple: help every young person understand how value and profit are created, and give them the confidence to build something of their own.
Earning, saving, investing, and the fundamentals of finance.
Turn a spark into a real, thought-through business idea.
Pitch against other schools in a national arena.
Earn cash awards, recognition and continuing mentorship.
The Big Idea
And like any machine, it is assembled, from many parts and many skills working together. The Olympiad teaches students to see business this way, and to build their own machine piece by piece.
Assemble these parts well and the machine runs, creating value, serving customers and generating profit. That is the wisdom we want every student to carry for life.
How It Works
Six rounds across the school year, each one building on what the last one taught.
Your school signs up and nominates its participating students or teams.
Students get sessions and resources on money, finance and how a business is actually built.
A finance and business-thinking assessment shortlists the strongest minds in each school.
Shortlisted students develop a business concept of their own, with mentor guidance along the way.
Students pitch their ideas against other schools, before a panel of judges.
National finalists compete for cash awards, trophies and recognition.
Yearly Cash Awards
Every year the Olympiad puts real cash behind the best young business minds, to encourage entrepreneurship and to celebrate original thinking. Amounts are confirmed and published at the start of each season.
